Potential mechanisms of GPC3 in acute lung injury. Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway shows its ability to transform the mesenchymal stem cells to alveolar epithelial cells. The suppression of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway by GPC3 may destroy cell integrity, change alveolar epithelial permeability, and aggravate lung edema.
