Abundant expression of osteopontin (brown color) in Iba1/AIF-1 positive parenchymal and perivascular macrophage/microglia (red color) in tissue from the occipital lobe of an HIV-infected individual with HIV-associated dementia (HAD). Osteopontin in HIV-infected HAD cases were significantly elevated compared to normal controls [74].
